Voter
Outreach
Getting
the cemetery vote out
Memphis
,
TN
--
May 29, 2006 –Tom
Guleff
, Republican Congression
al
candidate for the 9th District, is c
al
ling for a long overdue voter outreach program. "Since nothing has re
al
ly changed at the election commission, our campaign started planning a cemetery
voter outreach program,” says Tom.
We can't let this voting bloc get away from us. No one party has a lock on
these voters. An effective feder
al
program to get these long rested voters back into the voting booths is needed.
We have to convince them that they haven't been forgotten. Every government
program needs a slogan. We’ll be c
al
ling this outreach program COPTER - Cemetery Outreach Program The Election Redux.
In the past it's been "tough sledding" for a candidate like Tom
Guleff to make some headway in this segment of the electorate. But this election
is going to be too close to simply ignore any voting bloc. “My campaign
workers will be starting at
Elmwood
Cemetery
and then on to
Calvary
and National. We’ll try to reach
as many voters as we can before the August 3rd primary,” states Tom.
Unless something changes at the election commission we have no choice but
to convince lawmakers that our COPTER program requires federal funding. We'd
like Harold Ford, Jr. to take the first step by sponsoring this "pay as you
go" appropriation bill and legislation. Please contact you legislative
representatives immediately on COPTER, because it’s never too late for these
voters.
