Declaring Freedom from Corruption with 56 Signatures

Memphis , TN --March 12, 2006— On a hot summer day (July 4, 1776) just 56 brave patriots, signed a piece of parchment that was the Declaration of Independence which forever changed the world. This document declared freedom from the tyranny of abusive power. And now Republican candidate for the 9^th Congression al seat, Tom Guleff , has amassed 56 signatures to petition and declare his candidacy and independence from the long reign of those who have forgotten that this document declared,” Governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

“That’s us,” says Tom Guleff . “We are “the governed.” The voters of the 9^th District need to be taking back the power that the 1776 declaration gave them. I had the privilege to go to the school where the river bends to the sm al lest opening of the Hudson River c al led West Point . At this location many years ago a “rag tag” group of Americans ran an iron chain across the Hudson to keep the British from advancing. My friends and neighbors, we are stretching the same sturdy forged chain across the district to stop the same type of attack upon our form of government at every level regardless of party. We have to stop these forces from advancing any further. Simply put, Don’t Tread on Me!”

Tom Guleff adds, “I‘ve got to thank these brave souls here in Memphis for grabbing onto the chain. We’re ready to move on from the petition, and end this corruption and arrogance.
