IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Last Waltz for a Tennessee
Lawmaker and Four More to Go
Memphis TN – It was a sad day in Tennessee
politics yesterday when former state representative Chris Newton was sentenced
to a year and a day in federal
prison after he pleaded guilty in the Tennessee Waltz sting. The people of
Tennessee
still have four more lawmakers to put on tri
al
on what seems to be a full dance card.
Tom Guleff
, a candidate for Congress in the 9th District says, “How much more
can we take of these politic
al
slugs?” Running his campaign on
the theme of Solving Issues with Integrity, Tom Guleff
is a new fresh face on the Republican landscape.
Citizens in the 9th District are disillusioned with
corruption, cronyism and bribery that seem to be a part of their representation.
According to Terry Roland, District 29, “lobbyists are running
rampant.” And even Chris Newton
chimed in after his sentencing stating that the legislative process has become
“saturated with money and special
interests.”
Terms limits are one way to
solve some of this ongoing politic
al
corruption. Tom
Guleff
is committed to imposing term limits on politicians so that their influence is
short-lived and their interests stay focused on the issues and not lining their
own pockets. Tom
Guleff
pledges not to accept any gifts from lobbyists.
There won’t be any pictures of Tom
Guleff
and special
interest groups. Tom’s special
interests will be only for the people in the 9th District and no one
else.
